Saitō Hajime (斎藤 一, Hajime Saitō), is a wandering-nin previously affiliated with the Village Hidden in the Leaves. The illegitimate child of Misa Hajime and Kinta Uchiha, he showed almost no talents in the shinobi arts during his youth and that along with the illicit nature of his parent's relationship led to him having to face much scorn from surviving members of the Uchiha who saw his existence as an affront to their honor. Following his mother's death he was taken in by his mother's cousin, Tarō Suzuki, who helped unlock his latent skills and trained him in the ninja arts. Tarō passed on to him the ability to use the kekkei tōta known as Pulse Release, by combining three elements, Lightning, Wind, and Fire. Since then he has left the Hidden Leaf village and is currently a member of the reborn Akatsuki, having joined the group under false pretexts. His true aim is to kill any and all surviving Uchiha and completely eradicate the slowly rebuilding clan.
Famous for his creation and usage of the Wrath of God (天罰, Tenbatsu) technique, a Space–Time Ninjutsu of the highest caliber, he is known throughout the shinobi world for his tremendous speed and has himself claimed that there is no shinobi alive who is faster than him. He is also one of the few shinobi in existence with the ability to use a kekkei tōta and as the Pulse Release is also thought by some to be the source of his Jikūkan Ninjutsu techniques, it is a highly coveted ability.
Personality[]
Saitō shows two rather contradictory sides of his personality which has led many to think that he might be bipolar and suffers from manic episodes. Saitō stays completely calm and in control in most situations, and he is not easily surprised or caught off-guard. He is also highly perceptive, cunning, and analytical. He is highly level headed at most times and can make highly well thought and logical decisions. He is rather aloof, brooding, and indifferent, willing to harm both his comrades and enemies should they ever get in his way. But unlike most people's perception of him, he is not particularly violent and will only fight when provoked or when he thinks he it is the only choice. He is very much a Nihilist, believing that human existence has no objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value. He believes that only the physical laws contributed to our existence. With respect to the universe and his ultimate goals, a single human or even the entire human species is insignificant, without purpose and is not likely to change in the totality of existence. Strangely, Saitō does seem to show some concern for his friends and comrades.
He is highly resourceful, full of determination and possesses a certain disregard for rules. His strong-willed stubbornness can sometimes get in trouble as when he refuses to back down no matter what the situation. Born a bastard, he grew up in a world of darkness and suffered great sorrow as a child. He was pitied by some and shunned by others due to him being a bastard; but he did not let any of that get in his way. He lived his life by his own rules and learnt to ignore what other people thought of him. In this reference he can be stubborn and willful about his personal opinions, sticking with his views no matter what everyone else might say. Some of the members of the Uchiha clan were particularly harsh with him and mistreated him and made his life miserable every chance they got. Not only did they always remind him that he was an illegitimate child and the fact that his own father rejected him, they also made it apparent that they were glad that he had been born without any apparent power as in their eyes he was not worthy of even having a chance at possessing the Sharingan. As a result he developed a great sense of animosity towards the Uchiha and was forever resentful of them.
When Saitō suffers from one of his manic episodes, he becomes an entirely different person, much more cold, callous, and dispassionate. At such times he is an exceedingly brooding and angry man, almost totally consumed by the ultimate goal of utter destruction and death. He thinks of anyone who shows weakness as worthless scum and treats them as expendable. He fashions himself an agent of some higher entity's divine punishment and takes out his fury on any and all who stand in his way. He almost seeks out fights and it matters not who it is he faces, be it a ninja or a simple civilian. He is extremely cynical and cold-hearted and lacks almost any code of honor and does not see the point in offering those who are about to die a chance of dying honorably. He refers to trust and faith in others as idiotic notions and looks down on people who uphold such beliefs. He goes so far as to mock those who fight for others, making their defeats to him all the more harsh. He derives amusement and gratification from inflicting physical and emotional pain on others, making him a typical sadist.
All in all he becomes extremely rude and lecherous and treats everyone in a highly sick and perverted manner. At such times his overall goal is to prove himself to be the greatest and strongest and does not wish to waste his time killing those he dubs "weak". However, he has no qualms in attacking stronger opponents who are already injured stating that their handicap is due to their own weakness. His insatiable bloodlust and hunger for battle make him an highly dangerous and unpredictable opponent. On many instances his manic episodes are brought about by his over usage of his powers though on many occasions these episodes occur when he looses his temper or sometimes at completely random instances.
Appearance[]

Saitō has black hair, fair skin and light grey eyes. His hair normally falls over his face in a sloppy mess with a triangular fringe in the front that almost reaches till his nose. Standing at a little over 6 feet, he is thin for his height but still possesses a well toned body. He generally sports an expression of contemptuous nonchalance, rarely smiling and can put on an expression cold and scary enough to be used by mothers to scare children. When he suffers from one of his manic episodes he starts smiling in a crazed manner and perfectly fits the outward appearance of a deranged psychopath.
He is normally dressed in formal clothes consisting of a white dress shirt, black suit pants, black tie and black dress shoes. Over this he wears a blue or black sleeveless sweeter with a v-neck and a black suit jacket. At times he also wears a black trench coat over it all and a white mask on his face.
After his confrontation with his half-brother, he stole his father's equipment from his brother's corpse, claiming it as his inheritance. He has since then started wearing a new outfit resembling that worn by his father. Due to his resemblance to his father, in this outfit people have mistaken him for his father. He uses this to his advantage as due to his father's fame many Uchiha are thrown off by what seems to be a dead man walking. He wears an all black outfit consisting of pants, a sleeveless body mesh with a long sleeved t-shirt over it and a loose half-sleeved shirt above that with the Uchiha clan symbol on the the back in white. Bandages are wrapped around both his wrists and a white sash tied around his waist.
Since joining the Akatsuki he sometimes dresses in the standard attire of the Akatsuki consisting of a long, dark cloak with a red interior and a chin-high collar. The cloak has a red line running down the center and a pattern of red clouds on it. Below the cloak he wears a blue v-neck T-shirt, blue pants with a body mesh under the T-shirt, and a white sash around his waist on the outside of the shirt much like a tunic. He wears his Akatsuki ring on the middle finger of his right hand. It is red in color and it bears the kanji 朱 (shu, "vermilion," "scarlet") on it. He does not wear a forehead protector as he no longer accepts any allegiance, past, present or future, to Konoha.

Saitō's talents were not apparent in his early youth as the constant mocking and harassment he faced from his peers affected his self confidence and affected his ability to apply himself. Once he started living alone with his uncle, he started to grow in confidence and his intellect and inherent talent started to reveal themselves. His abilities were nothing short of brilliant and his progress in those early years were almost unparalleled. He possesses an unusually large amount of exceptionally strong chakra, with Tarō once having commented that his chakra levels could have possibly make even the Fourth Raikage A’s chakra levels seem mediocre.

Due to the nature and quantity of his chakra, Saitō possesses incredible stamina and vitality and an exceptionally long potential lifespan. He is also blessed with immense chakra reserves which enables him to continue fighting when others might get exhausted or run out of chakra. He can also control his chakra well and is efficient in its usage. Due to his high chakra levels he is well suited to using high level techniques which require a large amount of chakra.

Despite his other abilities, Saitō's greatest assets are his immense speed, instantaneous reflexes and great dexterity. He is exceedingly agile and possesses great coordination on his feet. Since his time under the tutelage of his uncle, he showed that he was very fast, joking that a childhood spent running away after stealing apples from his neighbor's orchard was what made him as fast as he is. Since the degradation in A's speed in his old age, it has been speculated by many that Saitō might possibly be the fastest shinobi alive. By using electricity to stimulate his nervous system he speeds up his neural synapses so that he can react much faster to any stimuli and as such his reflexes are enhanced to mindboggling levels. As a result he possesses tremendous raw speed as well as almost unmatched reflexes.
Along with his great speed he is also blessed with great stamina and his physical strength is greater than what you would expect from someone with his physique. His preferred form of combat is with two tonfas and he is highly skilled in using them, capable of running chakra through them so that he can use them to even go up against balded combatants. He normally keeps them sealed and summons them by means of the summoning seals drawn on the bracelets he wears on his wrists. He only resorts to using them when he deems an opponent to be worthy of facing them.

Saitō is well versed in various types of ninjutsu and has a diverse mix of techniques in his arsenal. He also makes regular use of the most basic ninjutsu skills and tools such as exploding tags. He is skilled in the usage of weapons such as shuriken and kunai and is very accurate at launching shuriken and can fire off multiple shurikens in quick succession. He is capable of effectively suppressing his chakra to prevent detection and sensing others by means of their chakra. He is also well versed in common academy level techniques and the usage of techniques like the Body Flicker Technique, Transformation Technique is almost like second nature for him.
Summoning seal.
He is also knowledgeable in the arts of fūinjutsu, capable of differentiating one sealing technique from another and using advanced techniques such as the Five-Seal Barrier. He also wears a pair of special bracelets on his wrists that contain a seal within which he can seal weapons and instantly summon them by simply touching the marks. He normally keeps bandages wrapped over the bracelets that prevent the summoning of weapons from the seal due to accidental contact and can be removed with ease when he wants to use the seals. He also carries a number of scrolls with him that have various items stored in them ranging from exploding tag kunais to simple medical equipment.
Space–Time Ninjutsu[]
Saitō has become famous due his unique space–time technique, the Wrath of God Technique, which allows him to manipulate the space–time continuum to teleport himself from one location to another. Due to the untraceable nature of his movement while using this technique he gains a great offensive advantage and can use this technique to gain the element of surprise while attacking an opponent. He can also use it defensively to avoid attacks that would otherwise be difficult to defend against. He can also transport objects and other individuals with him, but he must be in direct physical contact with the object or individual to teleport them with him.

Saitō makes use of a number of techniques that are element-based. He has a natural affinity for lightning, having mastered it at a very young age and other than his kekkei tōta this is the nature he makes most use of. He is also proficient with the usage of water and fire nature and the two of them along with lightning nature chakra make up the basis for his kekkei tōta.

Saitō has a genius level intellect and possesses an eidetic memory. By using these two gifts he can come up with ways to defeat an opponent in the most quick and silent manner. He can come up with brilliant strategies even when under pressure and his ability to come up with one when under no pressure is outstanding. He has a shrewd mind and can read his opponent's movements and abilities to try and come up with a way counter them in the best way possible. Due to his eidetic memory he can perfectly recall any terrain he has been in and makes use of every small rise and fall to gain an advantage. If he has encountered a jutsu and can understand the way it works, he can more often then not come up with a weakness in the technique and exploit that weakness the next time he encounters it.
