Minato Uzumaki (うずまきミナト, Uzumaki Minato) is a genin-ranked shinobi hailing from Konohagakure and a member of Team Shikaki. Following the death of his parents, he is currently being raised by his uncle, the current Hokage, Naruto Namikaze. He is also the current host of Kurama, being the first non-Uchiha to become the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki.
He is the main protagonist of the Naruto Alternate Universe storyline, replacing the role played by Naruto Uzumaki in the original manga.
Appearance[]

Minato is fair-skinned with spiky, blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. His trademark characteristics are two whisker markings on his cheeks. Minato's hair resembles the appearance of a leaf, his ahoge (アホ毛, Literally meaning: foolish hair) serving as the stem.
Minato is normally dressed in a black tracksuit that has a red fire symbol on the left breast, the Uzumaki crest on the back, and red stripes along the sides. Beneath this jacket — which he leaves unzipped — he wears a plain white T-shirt and a bolt tied to a string around his neck. He also has a shuriken holster strapped to his right leg. The attire is wrapped up by black sandals, a black forehead protector, and a weapons pouch on his lower back.

Abilities[]
Shikaki Nara has commented on a number of occasions that Minato is possibly the most naturally talented shinobi he has ever known and a genius on a level rarely seen. This is indicative of Minato's inherent talent as Shikaki grew up with Naruto Namikaze, who is considered a genius and a once in a generation talent. Naruto himself holds the belief that Minato might possess the potential to surpass even him and were he to achieve his full potential he could go down as one of the most gifted shinobi of all time. As such, despite his feelings about the boy, Naruto actively invests his time in training him as he can become an invaluable asset for the Leaf. Minato's power stems from the very core of his being, from his strong will power and determination. His strong will enables him to go on pushing himself when others would give up and go on fighting no matter what the odds. His desire to protect his friends and loved ones constantly drives him forward and provides the drive that allows him to push himself further than most shinobi and achieve feats that would normally be impossible for him.

As a descendant of the Uzumaki clan, Minato is blessed with an incredibly strong life-force and an exceptionally long potential lifespan. He also possessed tremendous stamina and vitality. His massive reserves of exceptionally strong chakra, when combined with his status as the nine-tails' jinchūriki, grants him a degree of accelerated healing, allowing him to recover from minor injuries within seconds and major injuries within a a matter of hours and days. His exceptional chakra reserves allow him to use techniques that are particularly taxing on one's chakra reserves for greater periods than most shinobi. When accessing the kyūbi's chakra his chakra reserves are boosted to mind boggling levels, making the concepts of preserving chakra and using it efficiently a redundant concept for him.

Physical Prowess[]

While Minato might be considered by most to be a prodigy, his one glaring weakness is his average to below average strength. While he is skilled in taijutsu, having learnt from Naruto and trained with Deku at the academy, his physical strength is average at best. He simply does not pack enough of a punch to stand up against taijutsu specialists. But what he lacks in strength he makes up in raw speed. Deku, Naruto's star pupil and a taijutsu master, has on more then one occasion praised Minato on his incredible speed. Such is his speed that he can easily keep up with Deku's regular and enhanced speed, only losing out when Deku makes use of the chakra gates. He has very sharp reflexes and is extremely dexterous with his movements. His hand movements are top notch, be it throwing weapons or performing hand seals.

Seeking his uncle's approval, Minato has decided to learn and master all the techniques developed by Naruto. That, and the fact that his extremely high chakra reserves make him uniquely suited to use the Shadow Clone Technique to its full potential, lead to this being one of the earliest techniques he mastered. While he learnt from Naruto that original user receives all the knowledge and experiences that shadow clones gain once they disperse, Minato was the first to make the connection that not only was this useful as a spying technique as Naruto intended, it could be tremendously useful for training purposes as well. He realized that mastery of the technique would drastically speed up his training by allowing him to learn in days what might have taken him years years. Though he is not at that level just yet, he is already considered to be more proficient with the technique than many seasoned ninjas.

The Rasengan has become Minato's trademark technique, so much so that many relate the technique more with him than it's creator Naruto. While Naruto developed the technique, Minato's innovative usages of the Rasengan and his ongoing attempts to merge it with his Nature Transformation, have very much made the technique his. While the technique took Naruto a good three years to develop, Minato stunned his uncle by learning and mastering the technique within a week. While Minato himself considered his usage of the Shadow Clone Technique to assist in his training to be a cheat, Naruto grudgingly acknowledged that it did not in any way undermine the impressiveness of the achievement.

Naruto's father, and Minato's grandfather, was famous for his unique space–time technique, the Flying Thunder God Technique, which essentially allowed him to teleport to any location with untraceable movements by the use of special seals. By throwing kunai that had the seal attached to them, he could teleport to the kunai, even moving to it as it travelled through the air. This technique is one of the few that Naruto himself has failed to master, which spurred Minato to dedicate himself to do what his uncle could now. Combined with the fact that he continuously loses to Deku in feats of speed, he has dedicated himself to mastering this technique. While he is nowhere near true mastery, he has learned hot to apply the seal to solid surfaces with his hands and teleport to them. But at present he requires over six minutes of concentration to actually manage to pull off the technique.
