Fushichō is one of the highest level Fire Release techniques, more or less on par with the Amaterasu and like it is considered to be one of the most powerful ninjutsu in existence.
While the jet-black flames of the Amaterasu are said to be the fires from hell that are as hot as the sun, the bluish white flames of the Fushichō are said to be flames from heaven which are said to be more akin to the magnificent radiance of the stars rather than being as hot as them. It is the anti-thesis of the Amaterasu; while the Amaterasu represents the destructive nature of fire, the Fushichō is the representative of the life supportive nature of fire. The white flames of the Fushichō are normally cold to touch and do not burn a person. But after learning to completely control them Kenshin can also increase their temperature to become as hot as the Amaterasu. Under such conditions the flames can burn through almost anything in their path and even extinguish normal fire techniques.
The flames of Fushichō give rise to a number of unique techniques which make the flames highly versatile and one of the most potent abilities in Kenshin's arsenal. Though more than capable of great destruction, the flames are naturally suited to be used in a defensive or healing role.
