Kage no Sonzai (かげ の そんざい) the literal translation being Shadow Being is a Kekkai Genkai from the Nara Clan that until recently was believed to have disappeared from use and never mentioned to the point where it was forgotten about by the members of the clan. There is no written recard of the ability.
Unlike other clan's Kekkei Genkai which use chakra and nature releases to enable the use of it, instead, the members of the Nara Clan can see and interact with beings that are literally shadows, but due to circumstances the Nara's can only now communicate with them during full moons. The only people who can fully communicate with them is Shikamaru Nara and Ai Nara.
It is said that for every Nara born a new shadow being is also born.
Abilities[]
During a full moon, Nara's are able to communicate with the shadows, but some can only see or hear them depending on the strength of their bloodline.
The shadows themselves manifest in three ways hard, soft and almost non-existent to help the Nara's. Unfortunately, due to the odd way of re-getting their Kekkei Genkai the only way the shadows can help is by lowering the amount of chakra that is necessary by using their own bodies when a Nara uses one of their Jutsu's.
It is also possible to use the shadows as weapons such as a sword, dagger, shuriken, and kunai.
Vulnerabilities[]
- Eclipse - During an Eclipse, those with a strong connection to the shadows depending on the strength can feel sick and those at its strongest can actually get knocked out. The shadows themselves disappear and are no longer able to communicate with the clan until the eclipse is over.
- Darkness - Complete Darkness is also a factor which is one of the reasons the Eclipse effects them so bad. When there is no light a shadow cannot be cast or exist which will make it so that the Nara is unable to communicate with them and have their help.
== Activation== It is possible for one to reactivate their connection to the Kekkei Genkai and the shadows with the special use of a chair that was created by one of Nara's leaders who had not been fine with the clan giving up their very abilities for the village. There are only two of them one in a secret underground place that is no longer used by the Nara's and another being used by a group who had left the clan and the village.
History[]
The Nara's have always seemed to have this Kekkei Genkai even before the creation of Konohagakure. Some time after Konoha was created the Nara's sealed their Kekkei Genkai away for the sake of the village though how this happened is unknown. It was known that a child of the leader of the time Rina was the one who started this idea and suddenly was sent away.
