A Senjutsu-enhanced version of Lightning Release: Electromagnetic Murder, it worked with similar concepts, but on a grander scale. Due to its invention and close association with Yatagarasu and the Crows, it was regularly referred to as Yatagarasu's Storm and Crow Lightning respectively.

Description

Sage Art: Lightning Storm was a completely offensive attack that channeled lightning-based chakra all throughout a user's body, eventually culminating into the wielder's fingertips and palms. Anyone with fine chakra control could utilize one or two hands. It was also able to come become stronger if one hand was used, as it became the singular focus for the chakra.

Variations

Sage Art: Full Body Lightning Conductor

A supplementary technique of Lightning Storm, the wielder energized their body with a constant flow of senjutsu-laced lightning chakra, up to the point where it physically cackled with solidified energy. In this state of form, the wielder used their body as a form of conductor, which ultimately allowed the flow of electrical charges into one or more directions. As a result, the wielder was also able to utilize Sage Art: Lightning Storm from any part of their body through the use of thetenketsu, directing the said chakra specifically through the previously mentioned pressure points. Due to the state granted by the Crow Sage Mode, wielders such as Yatagarasu the Crow-God and Nine Kunagiri were able emit lightning from their wings as well.

• Sage Art: Full Body Lightning Conduction Attack: Energizing their body with lightning chakra, the wielder would jump high into the air, subsequently aiming outstretched hands as a target. As they slowly descended to the ground, the chakra is quickly built up all around the body, manifesting in the form of sparks. The appearance was most notable in the Sage's wings, as it would glow a bright color and cackle with electricity. Using the simple verbal command, "Attack!", the pent up lightning was fired from all points of the body at the target. The barrage of intensified lightning was so great that it had the potential to fatally electrocute an opponent to death, leaving a burnt husk of a body as the only remnant. It also had large destructive power, so much so that a misfire could devastate and shatter earth or raze a forest to ashes.

Sage Art: Lightning Shield Enclosure

A variant where the wielder utilized shape transformation to create a shield of lightning chakra that completely covered and protected their body from harm for a set period of time. The Lightning Shield Enclosure also possessed the properties generally associated with Lightning Storm. In this state, the user had been shown to manipulate the lightning with relative ease, the most notable example being able to protract and contract the shield beyond the user's immediate space in order to extend their sphere of influence or catch an unaware opponent by surprise. Shield Enclosure also reduced the amount of possible damage taken by the user and was known to have the potential of shrugging off the most powerful of attacks, as long as enough chakra was expelled out. It was usually used in conjunction with other Sage Art Techniques and could be amplified with Wind Release.

Due to its electrical properties, the Shield Enclosure was more than capable of absorbing any form of lightning chakra, empowering and sustaining it even more. The user could also manipulate numerous strands of lightning chakra to arc and lash out at adjacent opponents to defend themselves.

While it wasn't the strongest variant of Sage Art: Lightning Storm, it was possibly one of the hardest to master. It required the wielder to be a master of Lightning Storm and all of its variants as well as the capability to focus and concentrate for extended periods of time. Peace of mind and slow, controlled breathing was a must for the technique to be successful.

Sage Art: Lightning Body Explosion

A grim and powerful application of Lightning Storm, it was typically used for execution purposes and on opponents whom the wielder wished for a painful and excruciating death. Once the user had blasted an opponent with Lightning Storm, there were several valuable seconds where they can freely manipulate the lightning in the body. In this case, the user amplified the lightning in the body by overloading it with more chakra until it reach critical mass and exploded the victim inside out. Depending on the amount of chakra used, the size of the explosion could potentially shock or kill anything within the victim's vicinity.

The user could also blast the victim with a brief burst of Lightning Storm, paralyzing them in the process. While they were incapacitated, the practitioner would use Wind Release to send the victim flying into a building or a group of enemies. The kinetic energy from the eventual impact served as a form a catalyst, causing the lightning chakra to expand and implode on itself, taking the victim with it.

Potentially the most deadliest technique out of all the variations

Sage Art: Storm Eruption

The last known variation of Sage Art: Lightning Storm, it was considered to be a rather simple technique to learn and master. Instead of directing the senjutsu-laced lightning chakra directly at an opponent, the practitioner would place their palms into the ground and channel it downwards through the earth. Due to the mass of unstable lightning, the ground grew extremely unstable and would eventually crack under the pressure. When that happened, numerous bolts of lightning shoot from the ground and struck the closest thing near it. Thus, the practitioner and allies must take great care to not be hit by friendly fire.
