|Six Paths Sage Technique|
|Name||Six Paths Sage Technique|
The Six Paths Sage Technique is an empowered transformation state, similar to the standard Sage Mode. This Sage Technique drastically enhances all of the user's abilities by combining natural energy with the chakra of either the Shinju or all nine tailed beasts. The Six Paths Sage Mode perfectly utilizes the skills of a tailed beast in conjunction with senjutsu.
The first person to use this state was Hagoromo Ōtstusuki, the man who would later come to be called the Sage of the Six Paths (六道仙人, Rikudō Sennin) when he sealed the Shinju inside his own body, granting himself access to this state when the chakra of the beast was combined with natural energy.
The Six Paths Sage Technique is one of the oldest techniques in the Shinobi world. A rudimentary form of the technique originated with Hamura and Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, the first two humans born with chakra. As Kaguya's chakra came from the fruit of the Shinju, the chakra the two were born with was similar in nature to that of the beast itself to create a rudimentary form of this ability with their developing Sage powers. Hagoromo himself would manifest the full form when he and Hamura defeated Kaguya, sealing the corrupted form of the Shinju, known as the Ten-Tails, into his body, and the woman herself into the moon through Chibaku Tensei.
The very nature of the Six Paths Sage Mode is a form of mastery over natural energy itself. The Six Paths Sage Mode creates unique clothing made of senjutsu chakra, that possesses the Rinnegan and nine tomoe emblazoned on the back of it; this is referred to as natural energy wearing (自然エネルギーの佩用, Shizen enerugī no Haiyō), as the user is quite literally shrouded in the power of the Sage itself; natural energy worn as raiment. By flawlessly incorporating natural energy into the chakra of a tailed beast, the capabilities of the user are increases immensely. Additionally, only in the Six Paths Sage Mode can someone create Gudōdama, spheres of black, malleable chakra that combine natural energy with the various chakra natures of the tailed beasts.
When a shinobi becomes the jinchūriki of the Shinju, they automatically gain this form, whether or not they have any experience as a Sage. However, the user's expertise with senjutsu will affect their form; this was the case with Madara Uchiha, whose Six Paths Sage Mode's power outstripped that of the form used by Obito Uchiha.
Another way to obtain this form is to become the jinchūriki of all nine tailed beasts, and incorporate senjutsu chakra with their own immense powers. The easiest way to obtain this form is to gain the power of Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki himself; this was the case with Naruto Uzumaki.
Individuals who utilize this form in conjunction with a Rinnegan refer to themselves as the Sage of Six Paths, in mimicry of the original Sage, Hagoromo.
Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, alongside his brother, Hamura Ōtsutsuki, was among the first to utilize a rudimentary form of the Six Paths Sage Technique. Hagoromo was one of the first humans to be born with chakra, born to Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, the woman who had consumed the Shinju's fruit, and gained the chakra of the creature. With chakra similar to the Shinju, and an aptitude for controlling natural energy, he and Hamura became the first Sages, and gained the ability to utilize a basic form of the Six Paths Sage Technique. Because of this, Hagoromo could create and touch Gudōdama, which he wielded as a shakujō.
When Kaguya, in fury and anger, merged with the Shinju to become the creature of calamity known as the Ten Tails, Hagoromo and Hamura were forced to take action when they could no longer abide the destruction of their mother, who had since gained many names by the terrified denizens of the world. Through their Yin and Yang seals, the two used the first Chibaku Tensei, forcibly transmuting their mother into the gravity core of the technique. Separating her from the Shinju, Kaguya became the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, and was sealed into what eventually became the moon. To prevent further calamity, Hagoromo sealed the Shinju into his body, and became the world's first jinchūriki, completing his Six Paths Sage Technique.
He would later use his form's immense power to forge the way of Ninshū, which, corrupted and twisted by the minds of humanity, became modern ninjutsu, and thus the path to the history of the shinobi was forged by the man who would later come to be known as the Sage of the Six Paths.
In the initial state of Hagoromo's Six Path's Sage Mode, he wielded the Six Paths Yang Power. This allowed Hagoromo to breathe life into form, and made him capable of remarkable forms of healing that outstrip any known medical ninjutsu. When he completed this form, he was seen wielding the Six Paths Yang Power and the Six Paths Yin Power, allowing him to create form from nothingness. Wielding both Yin and Yang in their truest form, Hagoromo was able to create life, and through this created the Creation of All Things technique, creating the tailed beasts.
Hamura Ōtsutsuki, alongside his brother, Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, was among the first to utilize a rudimentary form of the Six Paths Sage Technique. Hamura was one of the first humans to be born with chakra, born to Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, the woman who had consumed the Shinju's fruit, and gained the chakra of the creature. With chakra similar to the Shinju, and an aptitude for controlling natural energy, he and Hagoromo became the first Sages, and gained the ability to utilize a basic form of the Six Paths Sage Technique. Because of this, Hamura could create and touch Gudōdama, which he wielded as a shakujō.
In his initial Six Paths Sage Mode, Hamura wielded the Six Paths Yin Power. This allowed Hamura to create form out of nothingness.
Overtime, it is hinted his powerful Byakugan developed into a Tenseigan, reacting to the natural energy of his Sage Mode. Hamura's chakra was eventually reincarnated into Hinome Hyūga, who, like her ancestor before her, developed a Tenseigan through his Sage chakra.
Naruto Uzumaki's version of the Six Paths Sage Technique is by far the most unique variation to be used by any ninja. Merely a fragment of a Tailed Beast's Chakra is equivalent to the necessary full amount; the same held true for Naruto, when portions of the Tailed Beast's chakra were sealed into him, they manifested as fully fledged Tailed Beasts. This proved to be critical when Naruto attained the Six Paths Sage Chakra - specifically the Six Paths Yang Power — his normal Nine-Tails' Chakra Mode evolved into a Six Paths Sage Technique. While utilizing the chakra of all the Tailed Beasts within this mode, only Naruto's clothing and hair glow with yellow chakra; his face remains unchanged, but his eyes become yellow with slits and frog pupils. While drawing only on Kurama's chakra within this mode, it appears more similar to the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode — Naruto's entire body glows with vivid yellow chakra, though his eyes retain the same shape, they glow orange instead of yellow.
Kaito Hiroki later obtained his own variation of the Six Paths Sage Technique, similar to the one utilized by Naruto Uzumaki. During the Third Shinobi World War, Kaito fought many battles as a shinobi of Konohagakure, and was met in combat by jinchūriki from the Five Great Shinobi Countries. As opposed to properly killing them, when besting them in combat, Kaito absorbed chakra from their Tailed Beast, acquiring the strength and abilities of these Tailed Beasts in the process. Fū lent Kaito Chōmei's chakra after the fact. Merely a fragment of a Tailed Beast's Chakra is equivalent to the necessary full amount; the same held true for Kaito, when portions of the Tailed Beast's chakra were sealed into him, they manifested as fully fledged Tailed Beasts. Acquiring the chakra of all nine Tailed Beasts, made Kaito a psuedo-Ten Tails Jinchūriki (疑似 十尾 人柱力, Giji Jūbi Jinchūriki). The manifestation of this form allows Kaito to generate Truth Seeking Balls, which only appear after donning the Tailed Beast Cloak.
