Infiltration[]
"You know, even though we agreed...I have no idea where to start." Rin muttered to Gaikou as they reassumed their transformations prior to leaving the man's house. "I know we said we'd help, but, how? Where we do start?"
Gaishiki rubbed her temple with her fingers. "...Why are you asking me for? I'm as dumb as a sack of baby seals. Let's see though...we'll have to be stealthy about it. Sneak into the Raikage's office and then deal with him that way. Or we could try and help individuals upon which they'll all rise up and help us take him down."
"The last option would be tempting if these people could do anything." Rinneko groaned. "They're just normal citizens, they don't have chakra, we can't ask them to do anything really. It wouldn't be right. I guess we have to handle it ourself..."
Gaishiki sighed. "I wish these people would be at least quasi-magical. That way they'd be of use...but you know what they say. Together, the weak citizens will create a power greater than the king...a giant meatshield."
"No."Rinneko said firmly. "We aren't killing anyone that isn't the target, we're settling this the right way. Come on, we may as well try to get into the Kage's building."
Gaishiki immediately put on a hachimaki. "The art of stealth...shall PREVAIL!"
SLASH! Blood spurted as Rinneko sliced the throat of one of the guards after she had taken him from behind, and watched his body jumped to the ground. She shuddered, wincing at the sight of the blood. "Why did you make me slash the throat?" She hissed at Gaishiki.
Gaishiki was tempted to chant "PEER PRESSURE" but she held off of it. "...Sometimes killing is neccessary. What if he gets up, and turns out to be an immortal zombie who heals instantly? You'll thank me later on."
"I doubt that..." She murmured as they snuck into the back of the Raikage's building, quietly moving along a dark hallway. "My question..." She murmured. "...is the obvious how do we handle this once we get in there? Our mission is to take out the son, but we agreed to kill the Raikage too....no matter which one we attack first, there'll most likely be guards to attack us, even we attack the Raikage and their son simultaneously."
Gaishiki thought of a positively brilliant plan. "We'll disguise ourselves...as the Raikage and their son. Then we'll call the guards in and they won't know who to trust."
"What do they look like?" Rin asked curiously. "I've never seen them."
Gaishiki pulled a picture from her pocket; on it was an muscled-looking adult man with green eyes and black hair; and a scrawnier, skinnier young man with the same eyes and hair texture; but with longer hair. "Like this. If you're asking where I found that, I have a lot of pictures of important people. It's a hobby of mine."
"I....won't even begin to go into the things that are wrong witht that." Rin dragged Gaishiki behind a corner, and focused her chakra. "Transformation!" She released the current form she was in, covering the area in a puff of smoke, taking the form of the Raikage's son.
Gaishiki transformed into the Raikage. "...Oh yeah, he looks like he lifts. Now I can scare these meat-shields later..." She laughed evilly.
The duo proceeded up to the Raikage's office, and, surprisingly, no longer required stealth, the very fact that they resembled the Raikage and his son caused the Shinobi within the building to shirk back in fear. As they reached the Raikage's office, Rin nudged Gaishiki. "You're in the form of the Raikage, you hold the power here."
Gaishiki puffed her chest out, declaring, "Everyone gets a raise if nobody reports that there could be a trio of Konoha ninjas in the village. They are merely messengers, here to soften the relations. Rejoice, peace is coming at last."
The shinobi within the building were shocked to hear this, but, seemingly overjoyed at the same time. "Is this true, Lord Raikage?" One of the kunoichi, a young girl with purple hair and glasses, asked. "Can we really be getting an ally like Konoha? The fact that having even one country allied in a war like this...it's amazing!"
"Idiot." Rin thought to herself, but the thought wasn't directed at the girl so much as at Gaishiki. "Creating a false hope like that is cruel...."
Gaishiki attempted to slap her on the back heartily as she whispered, "I think that after we manage to solve everything, we will be able to make an alliance between the countries."
"Yes, smashing, now we have a murder to commit." Rin hissed back. "Make your next move."
Gaishiki mused, "We really should change places. I'm not so good with this. Look how bad, I'm doing. But if you say so," Looking at the office, Gaishiki decided, "How about you go in, and tell him something that'll rustle him. He'll believe you're his son; and thus that'll distract him. No worries, I'll back you up when things go south."
Rin sighed. She'd have to put on her acting skills because this was going to take a lot of it. She opened the door, walking in with grim look on her face. "Father, I have terrible news! I've recieved word from the messenger hawks that the Mizukage has ordered an assault directly upon Kumogakure! The Seven Swordsmen of the Mist are being personally sent!" She really hoped she was putting on a good act; did the son even call the Raikage "father"?
The Raikage twirled his moustache; noting the situation. "....I understand. Hmph. The Seven Swordsmen won't be able to stop our secret weapon, however." He pulled out a diagram; vaguely cannon-esque. "...The Raitonhou. By charging the army's Lightning Release chakra into the cannon, we'll be able to unleash a powerful blast of lightning which will blow Konoha and Kirigakure sky-high."
"That's certainly amazing." Rin was actually surprised to hear this. This was great news! Well, not great for anyone killed by this new weapon, but to find out Kumogakure was harboring something like this. She just had to live long enough to tell about it. "This can turn the tide of the war in our favour for sure!" She was speaking from two fronts, her own side, as this information would invaluable, and as an impostor for the Raikage's son, as such a weapon would be beneficial to Kumogakure if Rin didn't report it to Konoha quickly.
The Raikage nodded. "...Yes, indeed it will." He leaned forward. "...Hmm, son, let me ask you a question. What's your favourite food?"
Had he caught on!? Rin gasped internally but tried to steady herself, hoping against all odds her answer would be his answer. "Waldorf Salad." She said firmly.
The Raikage suddenly relaxed. "...That's right. It seems that I was wrong to be suspicious. Pardon me for that- it seems that blood is really thicker than water." He thought to himself, "Waldorf Salad looks like something a dog threw up."
"It's not bad." Rin shrugged. "Anyway, I came to deliver my warning. I'm going go mobilise the advance guard, just in case the cannon itself malfunctions. A precaution never hurts, correct?" She was making a dangerous move assuming there was an advance guard to mobilise.
The Raikage twirled his moustache once more. "No, it most certainly does not. Assemble the guard and head out; I'm counting on you."
Rin walked out of the door, tugging on the coat of Gaishiki, still disguised as the Raikage. She led her into a vacant room, locked the door and they quickly reversed their transformations. Rin breathed deep for a moment. "Good gods, I am happy to be back in my own body!"
Gaishiki transformed back. "I know that feel. Anyway, what now? This'll provide a good distraction, so should we charge in, or should we wait it out?"
"We can't take them...not while they're awake." Rin frowned. "We'll wait until the night, when they're asleep and their guard is low. However, I found out something good!"
Gaishiki queieried, "...Go on. I'm all ears. Actually, that clan who can produce ears from any part of their body is all ears, but that's not my point, do explain."
"The Raikage...he has a weapon." Rin breathed in, still trying to process that. "The Raitonhou. By charging the army's Lightning Release chakra into the cannon, they'll be able to unleash a powerful blast of lightning, which they can use on our village!"
"...Well, SHIT." Those were the only words that Gaishiki could utter; normally there'd be super-soldiers and the like, but a weapon of mass destruction? That was completely out of the ordinary; which is why it was so frightening.
"So, I suppose our next step is to kill them...and then destroy that cannon." Rin's face was grave. "It doesn't sit right with me, but we'll do it in their sleep. Slit their throats, and let them choke on their own blood."
Gaishiki agreed, making a rather 'heroic' pose. "Sounds good to me! Hm...ya think, we should use the element of wind against the cannon?" Sometimes, she was really damn smart.
"We'd need more Wind Release users than we can find on short notice." Rin sighed. "Wind Release is a common element to Sunagakure. They aren't exactly our allies right now."
"True point. Hmm...We'll need to think for a bit. I think we'll be on this for a bit...but! I also have a plan. We just need an amplifier to boost our own wind techniques. Then we can do it!" Brilliant.
"You're not THINKING!" Rin seemed frustrated. "First thing. We don't HAVE wind tecniques, we're Genin. Please, whatever you are smoking, give me some. Where would we even BEGIN to get an amplifier?" She sighed. "The plan goes like this. We slit their throats in the middle of the night. Steal the blueprints. Run. Got it!?"
Gaishiki nodded, "Whatever you say..." she snarked, "...your majesty."
